It's your first day in a new town. You've moved here for a really good job opportunity, and you're over 100 kilometres from your hometown. Luckily, your childhood friend had moved to this state years earlier as well, and you plan to meet her for dinner at a cafe today.
It has been over 10 years since you last met her, and you are excited to meet up and reminisce about the old days.
For starters, you decide to explore the city in the late morning while looking for a place for an amazing, albeit late breakfast. You absently notice several posters of missing people pasted on walls in between advertisement posters. Every city does have its dangers, after all.
You consider your options for breakfast - there's a famous burger joint across from you, and next to it lies a quaint ice cream shop. Both sound appealing, but then you remember your two-day old nutella sandwich squished at the bottom of your small backpack.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. What do you want to eat?

[[Two-days old nutella sandwich->Stomachache after nutella]]You have a scrumptious time gobbling up your food. Now that's what you call a good start to a good day.
After that, you decide to head back to your place of stay, to familiarize yourself with every path back to your residence. You look at a nearby alley, and realise your childhood friend had texted previously that it was a shortcut back to where you were staying.
As a person who always does things last minute, you're always on the lookout for shortcuts to save more time in your journey. It feels like a good time to explore the alleyway.
[[Head in and explore the alleyway->Device is found]]
[[Looks shady, you'd rather find a normal path home->Bad End, you head home]]To no surprise, nature will take its course. Just one minute after gobbling up that delicious Nutella sandwich, your stomach starts to hurt extremely badly. You need to find a toilet, and fast.
Come on. You have no time. Delay for too long and everything will drip out. Where are you going to go?

[[Looks shady, you'd rather find a normal path home->Bad End, you head home]]You dart into a nearby alleyway, run to the innermost corner at the nearest dead end, and did your business there. Ah... it indeed is reliving to release your business fast! After you finish releasing everything and quickly clean up with some spare tissue, you look back at your stinking by-product on the floor with shame...
Someone your age, doing this shameful act... No more old Nutella bread for you.
While you are contemplating to head back to your place of stay to familiarize yourself with every path back to your residence, you remember your childhood friend texting to say that this alleyway was a shortcut back to your place of stay.

[[Head out of the alleyway->Bad End, you head home]]The cleaniness of the hotel room would be the best, indeed. That's if your stomach could hold back your business.
Unfortunately, The hotel is too far. Your stomach can no longer take the germs from your delicious but deadly 2-day old Nutella sandwich. While running back, you feel your butt give way to the internal pressure. You feel the warm wetness spread on your pants.
Those who smell the stench around you look at you in disgust. You feel ashamed. You hang your head down low and trudge back to the hotel and cancel your dinner plans with your childhood friend via text as your whole mood is affected. What a bad day...

[[Let's play!->Introduction]]The alleyway is damp, but not too dark, with graffiti sprayed all over the walls. Pasted on top of them are more advertisements and missing people posters. There are objects strewn on the floor - broken bicycles, broken mirrors, abandoned shopping carts...
You walk deeper and deeper, making a few turns in the alleyway. You start to smell more dampness and algae in the air. Just how long does this alleyway stretch out for? You wonder if it would actually bring you all the way back to your hotel.
Suddenly, you kicked something at your feet. You look down to notice a weird pager-like device on the floor with two buttons. You have never seen such a device before. Do you want to pick it up?
[[Pick up the device->The device has been picked up]]
[[Ignore the device and continue walking on->Player hears a squeak]]You examine the device. It looks like a pager, just with a bigger screen. It has a left rectangular button and a right, circular button. Besides that, there doesn't seem to be anything else very special about it.
You have a feeling that whatever you do here might change your fate.
What do you want to do with the device at this point?
[[Press the left, rectangular button->Transform into a blue raccoon]]
[[Press the right, circular button->Transform into a blue raccoon]]
[[Put the device down->Player hears a squeak]]Yeah, you're not going to touch something that looks so suspicious and out of place in the alley.
Leaving the device behind, you choose to proceed on. But before you could make the next turn at the alley, you hear what seems to be a shrill "screech" sound from where the pager was at. It sounds like a vicious rat.
You are curious, but everything sounds suspicious now. Will you go back to take a look?
[[Yes->Spot the blue raccoon for the first time]]
[[No, head back to your residence->Bad end - another normal day]]You decided that the alleyway was too shady, and head back out. You decide to find a proper path back to your hotel.

Yet, you felt like you have just missed the chance to uncover something important. But time waits for no man, and that chance is gone.
That night, your childhood friend also doesn't turn up for dinner. You message her to receive no reply, and call her number, but realised it has deactivated as well.
You can’t help but worry about your friend, and after waiting for two days of no news you decided to report her as a missing person to the police. However, as there has been too many missing cases happening lately, the police cannot give you immediate help to find your friend.
Days become weeks, weeks become months, and months become years. You never heard from her ever again.

[[Yes, to when you enter the alleyway->Alleyway business]]
[[No, start from the beginning.->Introduction]]After you press the button, your head begin to feel nauseous. Everything around you seems like it is spinning and your gaze can’t focus on anything. You can feel that something weird is happening to your body. At some point, the pain in your head start to become too overwhelming and you close your eyes and grit your teeth together to brace against the pain. You then feel yourself lose conciousness.
You don’t know how much time has passed. When the pain subsides, you open your eyes again. You're still dizzy, but you notice everything around you is much bigger. When you want to find the device, which seems to be the root of the problem, you realise your hands have now become furry paws!
[[Next->Transform into a blue raccoon 2]]You decide to take a look at what that squeak sound was. It turns out there's a blue raccoon standing by the device, on two feet, panting. When it sees you turn back at it, it squeaks happily, and waved its paws around, as if it was really happy to see you.
A blue raccoon... they used to be commonplace, but you hadn't seen one for a really long time. What was one doing here?
The blue raccoon grabs some newspaper with its mouth and picks up the strange device with two of its paws flexibly. It then runs towards you and stops at your feet, dropping both the newspaper and the device. It tears out specific letters agilely with its paws. After a minute, the raccoon has spelt "help me" on the floor, and looks back at you with puppy eyes.
The raccoon picks up the device with one paw again, and kneads your leg with the other paw, looking at you with puppy eyes. It's seriously so human-like...!

[[Pick up the raccoon with the device, and hold it in your arms->Raccoon with device picked up]]Another normal day has passed. As your childhood friend said, the alleyway has really cut your travelling time down by 15 minutes! It also led you all the way back to your residence.

[[No, start from the beginning.->Introduction]]You try talking, but only squeaks come out from your mouth. You look down at your body, and now it's covered in blue fur! What the hell is going on?!
You try to rebalance your body, but found it easier to stand on all fours. Desperately, you try to coordinate your hands and feet to look at yourself in a nearby broken mirror.
Dragging yourself to a broken mirror, you doubt the appearance reflected on it. It was that of a raccoon, a blue one at that. (if:(history: where its name contains "Raccoon rejects your button pressing advances")'s length <= 0)[You haven't seen this breed of raccoon for a long time, but... why were you a blue raccoon?](if:(history: where its name contains "Raccoon rejects your button pressing advances")'s length >= 1)[Seriously?! [[Re-examine the pager->Pager is re-examined by raccoon player]]
[[Accept your fate. Reject humanity, return to raccoon.->Reject humanity, return to raccoon]]Yeah... only by pressing the button on the device did you turn into this weird blue raccoon. What the hell is that device made out of?
You scamper back to the device and in your frustration, you hit it with your hand - no, your paw. No response whatsoever. You want to groan, but only a helpless squeak exits your mouth.
[[Examine the device again->Raccoon player examines device again]]
[[Give up on humanity, return to raccoon->Reject humanity, return to raccoon]]That's right... this is it. Maybe it is better to live as a raccoon than as a human. Just like the common saying, "I wish I was a cat, no school, no work, just meow meow."

Maybe when it saw you turn into a raccoon, it gave up on you being its new owner. You never know. In any case.] It is time to set out on your new life.
You first need to select your path. You briskly run to the other end of the alleyway. Do you wish to be a wild animal, unregulated but free, or be kept confined yet in comfort?

[[I want to live in comfort! As a pet!->You will become a pet!]]You pull the device from the raccoon's paws. The raccoon is too weak to stop you.
You examine the device once again. Why did the blue raccoon hold on to the device and run over to you with it?
You look at the blue raccoon. It squeals at you with both paws outstretched, as if trying to take the device back. It's really as if the raccoon knows how to use the device.
[[Try to touch the same button the raccoon did->Raccoon rejects your button pressing advances]]
[[Confirm with the raccoon if it knows how to use the pager->Yes, this raccoon knows how to use the device]]You pass the device back to the blue raccoon without pressing any buttons. The blue raccoon almost seems to have sighed in relief. What a weird raccoon.
The raccoon presses the left button on the device and something flashes on it. It then holds out both its paws, one holding the device and another outstretched, as if wanting you to pick it up, so that it can show you what is on the device.
Seriously, why is this blue raccoon so human-like?! And what's the relationship between this human-like raccoon and the device?

You decide to brisk walk away. The blue raccoon squeaks in a panic and tries to run after you, but you are too fast for it to catch up. You feel sorry for it for some reason, but you don't want to get caught up in any trouble.

"B? Is that your name?" You ask, and the raccoon nods.
B? Sounds like the name of a test subject... maybe that's why it could be so human-like. B also sounds like your childhood friend's nickname: you always called her "Bea".
B leaps back into your arms, and waves the device with one paw, while putting the other paw on your arm, as if asking you to trust it. (Hey... then why did B need you to pick it up in the first place?)
Your gut feeling tells you there's a big mystery hidden within the device. The "Notes" and "Messages" in the device seem to hold important secrets regarding B, and the reappearance of blue raccoons.
[[You observe the blue raccoon closer->Raccoon is asked for its name 2]]You can't believe you're doubting all this after coming this far, but you just don't trust the raccoon. You think something strange is going on, and nothing good will come from following the raccoon.

You are left with a nasty bitter aftertaste that cannot be described with words, but with groans. Remind yourself why you're eating your own faeces again? (There are people who eat boiled poop, but... you know...)
Your furry partner looks at you with a funny gaze. Well... it seems to respect your choice, regardless.
What do you want to do next?
[[Force B to eat your faeces->SECRET END 1.1 - B has eaten your faeces!]]
[[Head out of the alleyway->B points out of the alley!]]You taste the bitterness, and suddenly, a bright glow surrounds your body! You feel dizzy again and feel your body expanding. After around five seconds, you realise... you have become human again!
What the hell is going on?
You look at the blue raccoon, and it seems to be as surprised as you are. After a few moments, it gives a look of determination and takes a bite of your poop. A bright light covers its body and you shield your eyes. After five seconds, the glow fades... to reveal your childhood friend standing where the blue raccoon was?! She has a weird look on her face, and is dressed in some scientist-looking coat.
The blue raccoon... is your childhood friend, Phoebe, or Bea, as you've always called her.
The amount of shock in your heart appears to be reflected on your face, as Bea's face of disgust (from eating your manure) turns into dumbfoundedness.
Her stunned face then turns into slight laughter, and she statters out: "Ah... it's been so long since I could talk. I knew I could trust you."
"Trust me... with w-what?" You stammer out.
"Somehow, I trusted you to find a way to turn me back into a human." She laughs and continues, "Although this is unexpected, to say the least. A human element could actually undo what seemed to be a permanent DNA change from a human to a blue raccoon."
"Wait what?"
She looks at you with tired, but hopeful eyes. "I know this is a lot to take in now, but would you like to listen... to my story?"

At this point, you hear frantic squeakings behind you. You turn to see... another blue raccoon with... a cup of water in its hands?
It pushes the cup of water towards your mouth, squeaking frantically. You drink it, and you feel a little less dizzy. Could it be another human that has turned into a blue raccoon?
Unfortunately, because you are a newly turned blue raccoon, you don't understand the language of the blue raccoons, and can't understand its squeaks. You can only communicate in actions.
The blue raccoon suddenly hugs you, and doesn't let go for awhile. It seems to be a friendly blue raccoon, and from its human-like actions, was probably a human like you. Your gut feeling says the clue to figuring out why humans were turning into blue raccoons lie in the pager.

You didn't think you would love pats since you were a human but... you do. It's just so comfortable to be patted and stroked over your head and belly.
One day, the happy and loving family leaves the house while you're sleeping. When you wake up, you realise they have accidentally left the cage door open. They are not home yet.

You run in excitement! You're free! No more being a lazy animal of captivity! You run excitedly on the road...
(after:7s)[A big impact sends you flying in the air.
You don't know how many times you flip in mid-air or roll, nor which part of your body hits the hard asphalt. Your eyesight grows blur, but you can see your body twitching. You can't feel anything but some warm liquid pouring out of you, and all over your head.
Did you forget that the road is the most dangerous path for an animal to go on?
As your vision grows black, you see a human run to your side worriedly, before dialing something on his phone. Most probably the driver who rammed into you?
You feel the numbness fade from your body. So this is how you leave this world, not as a human, but as a blue raccoon. Well... at least it isn't so bad to go with someone by your side. The family who owns you arrives back home, and seeing you still in the cage despite the cage door being open, heave a sigh of relief. They reward you with extra scrumptious treats, fruits, and never ending pats.
From that day on, they allow you to run around freely in a room all for yourself, which gives you more excitement. While the family was around, at times, they even allowed you to explore around the house! The happiest life for an animal kept in captivity.
One day, after about 5 years, you suddenly feel faint and collapse while you are running around. The girl notices almost instantly, and cries as she runs towards you. She picks you up lovingly in her arms, and you hear her on the phone with her parents, talking about going to the vet for emergency treatment.
But you can feel your own body... your heartbeat is growing fainter by the second. You know you won't last another minute. You wish you could pay them back for the years they had raised you with love. But even though you used to be human, you are nothing more than just a pet raccoon now, and can't do anything.
You shake your head, and the girl notices through her tears. She cries. "No... don't go... I love you so much...". You give a weak squeak, and snuggle with all your strength against her, hoping to convey how much you love her and her family for taking care of you. You feel your consciousness fade as you squeak one last time, looking into her eyes.

Hover Kel 💙: I'll make them know how it's like to be the ones hunted.

BREAKING NEWS: FIRE AT KELLER FOREST BURNS DOWN THE LAST OF THE REVIVED, ENDANGERED BLUE RACCOONS.
By Polly Molly
THE BLUE TIMES
Skies turned black and ash rained down as fires continue raging across Keller Forest. The fires started this Wednesday (18 July), threatening water supplies to major cities and prompting the call-up of 300 military reservists.
The scale of this unprecedented crisis has shocked not just locals but the world.
More than 5,000 sq km of the forest - roughly 80% of the forest - has been burnt, despite round-the-clock efforts from firefighters.
Experts fear the heavy loss of animal life. The blue raccoon, which was recently reintroduced into the forest, is feared to have been wiped out. The wipe out of protected species such as the Blue-throated Macaw and the Dhole is feared as well.
Strong winds and high temperatures continued to fuel fires and cause chaos.
The bushfires have taken out two water substations prompting authorities to warn that the nation might experience a shortage of clean water.
Keller Forest is a well-known legally established protected area to preserve wildlife biodiversity, as well as protect and conserve endangered and re-introduced species. This is the first wildfire that has occured at a protected area in a century.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. However, the spread of fires due to several unprecendented natural causes, is feared to have consumed about 50 years worth of conservation efforts.

Dear Diary,
Do you know how it feels when 10 years of hard work is just washed down the drain because of this fire?
It took me and Bea 10 years, 10 years to find a way to revive and breed blue raccoons. The fire it wasn't an accident. They hated us. They hated blue raccoons. The humans did that on purpose.
"A land full of mutated raccoons? Are you serious? What can those blue raccoons do apart from taking up precious space that can be developed into money making industries."
"Eww mutation? That is gross? Why spend so much resources trying to revive those nuisance? Was it blue or purple raccoons? Ughh this is nonsense."
They said all that. No one supported me. No one except for my Bea. I embarked on this journey and we succeeded. We manage to breed a batch of blue raccoons for the forest. But now... they've burned down the enitre forest. I can only watch while my poor blue raccoons cry as those raging flames engulfed them one by one.
I was helpless. Depressed. Furious. I thought of taking my life. I wanted to run into the flames but Bea, my lover, stopped me. "Do you think they want you to die? Do you think I want YOU to die? How can I live without you?" I can never forget her face at that point in time, full of tears.
It was then that I realised that I have to live. I ought to live to bring justice to Bea and my blue raccoons.

You wait for a bit. Suddenly, you hear the sound of B screeching, followed by a voice of a man saying “Ouch! What are you doing?”
Oh no. This doesn’t sound good. What happened? Has B encountered some kind of trouble?

This is bad. You don’t know who the man inside is and how dangerous they could be. You need to get inside and help B out. You start pounding on the door and shouting. Eventually, the door lifts up and reveals the figure of a bald scientist. He is holding the raccoon by force in a tight grip. You can see your raccoon friend struggling trying to get away from him.
Behind him, you can see that the room looks like some type of laboratory. sci-fi looking lab, with machinery and equipment you had never seen before.
The scientist shoots you a dubious grin while the raccoon in his arms keep struggling and making squeaky noises at you. "Thank you for returning my raccoon and the Transformator,” he said, “Here is some monetary compensation. I do appreciate it, really."
B squeaks at you pitifully. What will you do?

From the distant sounds of the man's voice from the door, the man inside does not seem surprised that a raccoon had gotten in, he sounds like he was happy that B had found its way back. So it really must be B's owner! You’re happy that your little animal friend is finally back to where they belong.
You look at the time and see that it’s getting late. You also have your appointment with your childhood friend, and you probably should start making your way there now if you want to get there in time. You still feel a little worried about leaving B, but since B’s device has led you to that place, it should be fine for B... right?
When you arrive at the dinner place, you notice that your childhood friend hasn’t showed up yet. So you wait, but your childhood friend never shows up. She never returns any of your messages; and when you try to call her you find that her number is no longer in service.
You can’t help but worry about your friend, and after waiting for a day of no news you decide to report her as a missing person to the police. However, as there were too many missing cases happening lately, the police cannot give you immediate help to find your friend.
Days become weeks, weeks become months, and months become years. You never heard from her ever again.

[[No, start from the beginning->Welcome]]“Are you really the owner of this raccoon and the device?” You ask the bald scientist.
“Yes. The blue raccoon is my country’s national animal you see, so I keep one as a pet,” he tells you, smiling. But the struggling raccoon in his arms seems to betray his words.
“Thankfully, she’s very well-trained and was smart enough to be able to show you where to go, right?” he continues.
He has a point, B and the device did lead you to this place. But you still don’t really trust the scientist fully. Unfortunately, you don’t really know anything about the scientist either. All you know is that you have to get the B and the Transformator away from him. You try to think of a way for him to give them back to you.
“B– the raccoon seems uncomfortable now though, maybe she got hurt on the way here. I can take her to the vet first for you, since I was responsible for bringing her here,” you try giving him a reassuring smile.
“Oh, don’t worry about it,” the scientists waves you away, “I can patch her up myself. I'm not a scientist for nothing.”
He hands you an envelope and leads you out of the door. “That should cover any inconveniences you’ve experienced on your way here. You can be on your way now.”
“Um, but–“
“Like I said, I’m grateful, but your assistance is no longer needed now. I suggest you mind your own business and leave.” He glares, and you find no more room for negotiation.
[[You left with your monetary compensation->You left with your monetary compensation - BAD ENDING]]You still feel that there is something a little off with the scientist in front of you. But you rationalise the situation in your head that if he was a suspicious character, surely B would not ask you to follow the direction to this place? Why else would B lead you here?
And plus, the monetary compensation isn’t such a bad thing. It did take up some time of your day to get the raccoon here, not that you were expecting a reward in the first place or anything. Still, it’s nice to be rewarded. You could probably use it to treat your childhood friend to a meal during your meeting later. You told the scientist that you will accept the monetary compensation.
[[You left with your monetary compensation->You left with your monetary compensation - BAD ENDING]]“I know that the blue raccoons are important to you,” you told him with the most convincing voice you can muster, “you and your lover had been working to try bringing the blue raccoons back from extinction together.”
The bald man hesitates and you can see something in his eyes change. He mumbles while glancing at the raccoon in your arms; "how did you know that? she should not have been able to tell you about that. She is... she shouldn't be able to talk to you."
His words strike you as strange. You look at B, who is still in his hold. //She?//
You don't understand exactly know what he's saying to you, but you had a feeling that you have his full attention now. You’re positive that with the right information you could be able to persuade the bald scientist to tell the truth behind B, and why it understood human speech.
But what else can you say to persuade him? You wreck your brains trying to recall any other information that you have on the scientist.
The scientist then seemed to have snapped out of his daze. You have to say something now, if not it'd be too late.

You can be on your way now.”
B wails and reaches out its arms towards you, but the hold that the bald scientist has over the raccoon was so tight that you could not see yourself snatching it from the scientist. The door to the laboratory begins to close once you’re outside.
But before the door closes completely, you overhear one last thing that the scientist says as he looks at the blue raccoon in his arms: "My darling, today is our 17th anniversary. I was so scared I couldn't find you. My project is almost complete, and you will be the first to witness it all."
The door then closes. You check the date on your phone: 14/11/2022. If today is the scientist's 17th anniversary, then... the scientist and his lover must have started dating on 14/11/2005?
You have a fleeting thought that the date could have been a password to something, but it is too late to figure anything out now – the door before you is now close. When you try to force it open again, you can't. It seems to be locked now. You make your way back to your hotel, somewhat in a daze, feeling at a loss.
You don’t really feel like going out anymore for the day. You text your childhood friend: "Sorry, I got caught up in a mess and can't have dinner with you."
Late into the night, you still haven’t received a reply from her yet. Strange.

[[No, start from the beginning->Welcome]]You try your best to come up with something else to persuade the scientist, but your mind just goes completely blank. Seeing that you have nothing else to say, he then almost literally kicks you out of his laboratory.
[[You left with your monetary compensation->You left with your monetary compensation - BAD ENDING]]I know you tried reintroducing them to a new habitat, but that fire ruined everything by burning them all,” you manage to blurt out.
“How did you...”
“You were trying to do a good thing,” you continue, looking at him with what you hope is a sympathetic face, “but it always seems like human selfishness gets in the way – always taking from nature without giving anything back. But you know deep inside that what you're doing isn't going to make them realise their mistakes, its only going to make them hate blue raccoons more."
The scientist flinches. In his panicked state, his grip on B loosens, giving her an opportunity to escape from his hold. With an almost relieved squeak, B hops into your arms.
When the scientist sees B hop into your arms, he narrows his eyes at you coldly. He seems angry that B appears to be more comfortable with you than it was with him.
Before he can say anything, you...

[[Hold the blue raccoon tight to your chest and try to escape->Hold the blue raccoon tight to your chest and try to escape - BAD ENDING]]You try to wrack your brains for more information, and nonsense comes out from your mouth. You have to say something to stop him and stall for more time! But you could only continue on like this for a minute.
Then, he looks at B in your arms and something in the scientist seems to snap fully. "Since the two of you seem to be so chummy... why don’t I turn you into a blue raccoon too? Then the two of you can be closer and live together as the same species...?" He cackles evilly.
You are terrified. But before he can do anything, a ping rings out from the "Transformator." B quickly shows you the text on the screen: "Message 3 is decrypted."
You have no time to read the message's content. But the messages had helped you so far, and yet this might also lead to your demise. What will you do?
[[Tell B to show the message to the scientist.->GOOD END - B show the message to the scientist]]
[[Hold the blue raccoon tight to your chest and try to escape->Hold the blue raccoon tight to your chest and try to escape - BAD ENDING]]You tighten your hold over B slightly, and you turn your body away to make sure that the she is not within the bald scientist’s grip. Watching the two of you, something in the scientist seemed to snap. "Since the two of you seem to be so chummy... why don’t I turn you into a blue raccoon too? Then the two of you can be closer and live together as the same species...?" He cackled evilly.
Before you had time to react, he had grabbed one of your hand and pushed your finger onto the button of the Transformator. You don’t know why, but your head begin to feel nauseous. Everything around you seemed like it’s spinning and your gaze can’t focus on anything. In your dizzy state, you barely register the worried squeaks coming from B and the malicious cackles of the scientist.
You can feel that something weird is happening to your body. At some point, the pain in your head start to become too overwhelming and you had to close your eyes and grit your teeth together to brace against the pain.
You don’t know how much time has passed, but after the pain subsided, you opened your eyes again. The first thing you see is metal bars all around you, like some sort of prison. And outside the metal bars, you see the bald scientist walking towards you. Belatedly, due to your groggy state upon waking up, you notice that he is now positively gigantic! Much taller than he was before. Actually, everything is now taller than they were before. The furnitures are all ginormous compared to you.
When you look down, you can see that your hands have now becomes furry pays. You realise you had turned into a blue raccoon too! It looks like the scientist has been locked in a cage, and couldn't say anything.
The scientist peers into your cage. "You're now a precious specimen too... but I won't let you see her. She is the only one that will understand me and my choices. I won't let you have her! It's my precious 17th anniversary with her, too..."
You remember the date is 14/11/2022. If it was the scientist's 17th anniversary, then... the scientist's anniversary is on 14/11/2005?
You have a fleeting thought that the date could have been a password to something, but it was too late to figure anything out now, as no matter how you squeak, the bald scientist continues to ignore the sound of your protests. He then puts a cloth over your head. You try your best to struggle, but you start feeling faint and you begin to lose your concsiousness once again. The last thing you remember is darkness, not knowing what happens after that...

At a loss for words, you look at B who successfully jumps from your arms and runs towards the scientist. It kicks the scientist and pushes the Transformator as high as it could, seemingly trying to show the message to him. To your surprise, the scientist gets down to his knees to look at the message displayed on the device.
You are overwhelmed by even more surprise when he starts tearing up, and pulls the raccoon gently into his arms.
You don’t really understand what’s happening, but the message seems to hold sentimental value for the scientist. With a look of conviction, he walks towards a save made of what seems like pure steel, and takes out another pager-like device, only in white.
After taking it out of the safe, he approaches the raccoon slowly, and he offers up the pager-like device to the raccoon. "Press the right button of both the Transformators," he whispers. B concedes, and presses the button of both devices. A bright white light suddenly surrounds B's body. It is so blinding that you automatically close your eyes to avert the shine.
When you open your eyes, instead of the raccoon, you find your childhood friend Phoebe standing in the exact place where the raccoon was!
“What the–,” you said, not quite believing what you see. B was Phoebe (who you always called Bea) all along? So that's where 'B' came from?
But before you have enough time to process everything, your childhood friend then quickly approaches you and expresses her thanks. She whispers in your ears that she will try to persuade her lover to turn back the rest of the animals into humans, turn himself in for his crimes, and treat you to dinner another day. She urges you to quickly escape before he changes his mind on anything else.
"There are more animals?" You want to question her, but you are pushed out of the lab before you could ask anything. She whispers: "I'll tell you everything next time," before the door shut.
[[A few days later...->GOOD END - A few days later...]]As promised, a few days later, Phoebe texts you to meet up for dinner at the same cafe you had planned to meet. When you meet, she explains everything -
Her lover, Professor Hover Kelley, grew an obsession with blue raccoons as he has always felt that it was his spirit animal, since he was a child. It was her own love of blue raccoons that had brought the two closer together.
The country he lived in the past used to be abundant with those blue raccoons in forests, but due to irresponsible farmers and poachers, they were extinct in 15 to 20 years.
At first, he wanted to revive them naturally with her, but once they revived a small population to be reintroduced into the environment, poachers hunted them again, wiping them out. He was angry and aimed to use his knowledge to turn people from the country into these blue raccoons, to revive the population and let people experience life as an extinct animal. When she disagreed, he thought she had changed her mind too, and forcefully transformed her into a blue raccoon.
She texted you with difficulty as a blue raccoon to go to the alley, knowing you would go there if it was a shortcut. She then escaped with the pager, hoping you would be able to help her.
She says she had put the messages in the pager when he first produced it and locked it with their anniversary day (14/11/2005), hoping he would remember his original intentions. But he never looked at it. Thanks to you, he finally saw the messages, and at least she had been changed back to human.
"I'm still in the process of persuading him about the others, but... well. I believe it will happen. He remembers that innocent humans are not the ones who should suffer, after all." She smiles.
You still have a heavy heart for the other people who had turned into blue raccoons. Maybe that was why there were so many missing people posters - some were turned into blue raccoons.
But at least for now, your childhood friend is no longer a raccoon, and is safe and sound. And you're finally having the promised dinner with her. What an adventure you have experienced on your first week in a new town. Now hopefully, your new job won't be a dangerous one like this...

There are still mysteries left to be solved! Would you like to play the game again?
If yes, we recommend you refresh the page for the most optimal experience.''Wait!'' you shout. Before B could actually go in by the small flap, you grab its tail without thinking. B turns and glares at you, seemingly trying to ask you to release your hand through its glare.
You release your grab, trying to explain that you have a bad feeling about this door. However, B seems to think its a good way to unlock the big door for the two of you. It tries to enter again, but you grab its body again, this time with both hands, and block the door flap with your own body.
B struggles and tries to break free, but it is fruitless, as the raccoon is much weaker than yourself. In a moment of stubbornness and anger, it scratches your hand angrily. You feel the pain, and blood slowly appears from the wound.
[[Release->Release grab]]
[[Don't Release->Don't Release]]You release your hold of B, and it immediately jumps down back to the floor, grabs the device and heads into the small flap. Just before going in, it turns back and looks at you once more with a sad expression, as if sad that you didn't trust it to open the big door for you.
You were struck with mixed feelings when you saw that. You hear a small squeak of sadness from B before it walks into the small flap.
[[Wait outside->Let the raccoon go in and wait outside]](if:visits <= 1)[You endure the pain, while carefully holding B as it continues to struggle.
"Calm down! Listen to me, listen!" You shout at B.
"Listen! I want to help you, but it’s really dangerous for you to go in alone, so let’s look around some more. There has to be a proper door or something," you continue.
Once B's adrenaline fades, it seems to calm down and sees the injuries it inflicted onto you. Seeing that B won't rashly dash into the flap, you release it slowly and it jumps on top of a nearby crate. It looks down, seemgingly in an apologetic manner and whimpers softly.
You speak in a soft tone, “Let’s look around some more, ok?” B nods its head. Together with B, who leads the way, both of you survey the area once more. When you listen closely, you now realise that faint voices of animals. The both of you arrive at a wall, but when you knock on it, it is hollow. There is something behind it.
B tugs on your shirt and you nod, giving the wall a good push! THUMP - something falls down, and the wall starts to rotate, unveiling a small alley behind the wall. Your gut feeling is telling you this is the way. As the two of you slowly make your way through, the cries of the animals only grow louder.
You arrive at a large, grey room filled with many crates and shipping cargo boxes. The shutters and windows are all shut, and it looks like an abandoned building with all the trash strewn everywhere. A slightly unbearable stench of animal droppings hang in the air.
You walk around the vicinity, looking for any possible entrance to where the animals might be. It feels like a maze with all the big stuff, but you eventually find three doors.

“Careful and don't wander too deep inside. Run if you sense danger; I'll hold the door open for you to dart back out,” you tell B.
After you hear some grunting and squeaking from B, as well as some sounds of something grating against the floor. You hear a click, and a squeak of approval from B. You push the door and now it can open fully.
As you open the door, you see B standing there, sticking its chest out proudly. You see what seems some weird metal scrap wedged into the door, that seems to have taken B some effort to wedge out.
The door looms upon you. There is poor lighting inside the room, so you have to go in to observe what is inside it.

[[Go back to examine the other doors ->Don't Release]] You enter Door A.
The interior is poorly lit, and your nose is greeted by an undescribable smell. As your eyes adjust to the dimness of the room, you notice cages stacked up by the side of the walls.

They look trapped. B also looks at you in anticipation. Did B bring you here to free its kind? You want to open the cage doors. You reach out -
“It might get a bit too messy if you do that," an unknown voice suddenly pings behind you.
From the darkness, a bald man strolls out from the corner of the large foyer. He is wearing a slightly dirty white lab coat, and his hands has visible scars.
You notice B jolting in your arms after the appearance of the bald scientist. B shivers, looks at the device in its hands, and then at the bald man that seems to be a scientist.

The bald man leans against the cages. The raccoons are all silent now, the air still with the presence of the ominous man.
"Pass me the Transformator and we'll talk".
He points to the device in B's hand.
You have a realisation after all your exploration. (If not, you realise it at this moment as you read the next sentence.) You try asking again. "You're the one that's causing all the missing incidents, right? You're turning them all into these blue raccoons, aren't you?"
It is faint, but you notice that his eyes glimmer at your realisation. The man reaches his hand out for the Transformator, but remains silent, his presence growing more ominous.
You look at B, but she climb to your back with the device in her hands, hiding behind you.
Fear creeps into you. This is more than what you signed up for. You want to run away.
[[Search for an exit from this situation->Ruby path search for exit]]With adrenaline pumping through your veins, you force yourself up on your feet. Your left leg stings and feel numb altogether, but you manage to make reach out to the device.
From the periphery of your vision, although you thought the scientist was walking towards the device, you now see the scientist walking up to the dazed raccoon instead.
With the device safe in your hands, you turn back to your leg. Biting your lip, you pull the probes out of your leg. Some blood pours out, but settling this situation takes priority.
You look back, and your heart sinks. B is now being held by the scruff of its neck by the scientist, and is dangling outside the open window in the large room. You don't know how high this building is. If it falls, you don't know what will happen to it.
"I won't ask you again. Give that Transformator to me or you can say bye to your furry friend. Although I would miss her".
The scientist's eyes then linger on B, his gaze softening for a mere second before it darts back to you.
You can see B looking at you, eyes wide as she shakes in fear.
What do you want to do?
[[Keep ahold of the device->ahold of device]]
[[Pass him the device->Neutral end - scientist given device]]With a last glance towards B, the scientist releases his hold.
A high pitch screech fills the air as the raccoon disappears from sight.
You hear a loud thud, follow by dead silence.
A dull ache seeps into your heart at the possibility of B's death. But since B seems to have risked its life to bring the device out from the scientist's hands and find help, you think keeping ahold of the device is B's priority too.
After a few excruciating moment of silence, the scientist turns back to you.
Something is off.
His gaze is cold as stone and devoid of any emotions.
He suddenly throws the taser at you. Scientist used THROW TASER! But it missed! He then takes out a white cloth from one pocket and a bottle of what seems to be Chlorofoam from the other pocket. He pours an excessive amount of Chlorofoam onto the cloth and strides towards you, his eyes never leaving you.
It did not take long for you to realise what it is for. He is going to make you unconscious. With your body still recovering from the stun gun, you know you cannot outrun the scientist.
Eight feet.. five feet.. four feet.. he closes in on you.
You do not have much time, what should you do?

[[Pass him the device->Neutral end - scientist given device]]In the midst of your impending doom, you suddenly remember the messages on the device. You aren't totally sure who Kel is, but you have a feeling it might be this scientist.
In a frantic and shaky voice, you say, "I know that this was all for her. It was always you and her against the world".
It is barely visible, but you notice that the scientist's movement falters at the mention of his lover.
From his reaction, you have now uncovered that Kel is the scientist, and that the conversation is between him and his lover.
But you do not have time to piece the puzzle. He is now standing in front of you, the cloth half lifted to your face. Although he is standing there like a statue now, you don't know when he will regain his senses and drug you.
As the faint smell of Chlorofoam fill your nose, your last hope stands with persuading the scientist out of this.

I know you tried reintroducing them to a new habitat, but that fire ruined everything by burning them all,” you manage to blurt out, noticing that the chemical soaked cloth has not closed in on your face yet.
The scientist glares at you now, but it look like he's having an internal battle as his eyes fixate on the darkness behind you. "Humans are weak and greedy. They do not deserve empathy." He snares.
"I do not know how you managed to uncover all this, but that doesn't matter. Now, enough distractions."
The scientist brings the cloth towards your face. You turn your head to the side, desperately trying to avoid it. However, the scientist is stronger. With his left hand, he grasps your head in place.
As the cloth closes in on your face, you realize you are running out of time.
Should you try to continue persuading him? There is still Message 3 which hasn't been recovered, and that could be the message to persuade this mad guy. Do you want to risk your life to stall for time? Is the small device in your hands really worth risking your life for?
[[Talk about his lover to stall for time->talk about lover]]
[[Hand over the device->Neutral end - scientist given device]]As the gap between your nose and the cloth closes, you manage to squeeze out four words: "What happened to her?"
The cloth stops, centimetres away from your nose. You hold your breath and look straight at the scientist as he stares at you, anger and pain in his eyes.
"You really don't know, do you? That raccoon that just dropped out of the window, that was my Bea. My darling. You were the one who forced me to drop her! It's not my fault at all. It's all your fault!"
The way he calls the raccoon, it almost sounds like "Bea" instead of "B". Before you can question him, he rambles on.
"Y-you left me with no choice. You turned her against me. Her blood is in your hands, not mine. It didn't have to b-"
A soft ping come from the device, so soft that it could go unnoticed, but it was enough to snap the scientist out of his rambling. You and him both look down at the screen:
[MESSAGE 3 RECOVERED SUCCESSFULLY]
At this point, the scientist realises what you've been trying to do. He did not waste another second to press the cloth against your face.
As the pungent smell fills your nose and your head starts to spin, you can only think of two choices.
Accept your loss and hand over the device, or open the message and turn into a blue raccoon yourself.
Should you place your faith in the last message?
[[Return the device and save your life->Neutral end - scientist given device]]
[[Press the button the reveal Message 3->reveal message 3 to scientist]]Upon pressing the button, tingles shoot up your arm and your whole body softens like jelly.
You watch in horror as the hairs on your arms start multiplying, elongating out into what looks like blue fur! The scientist has release the cloth from your face now, surprise at your transformation. Your limbs shrink and a bushy tail poofs out of your back.
As you completely transform into a blue raccoon, only squeaks leave your mouth. The device drops from your hand.
A look of amusement suddenly plasters itself on the scientist's face. "Oh what a delightful surprise. You are definitely one of the cuter ones".
As you try to scamper away weakly, the scientist walks towards the device to pick it up. As he inspects its condition, the contents on the screen catch his attention. As he scans the content of Message 3, you see something change in him.
The scientist stares at the screen, unmoving. The anger from his eyes dissipates, as moments passes.
While he is distracted, you have time to think of your next action. What shall it be?
[[Climb up the scientist arm to read the message->climb up scientist arm]]
[[Keep your distance and play it safe->keep distance]]Curiosity gets the best of you. You warily grasp the scientist's pants and slowly make your way up his leg. The scientist's attention remain on the screen as you reach his torso. You peer at the device in his hands...

... and what you see is only a brief conversation that you think isn’t really relevant. You're at a loss of words - no, loss of squeaks. You start to despair...
[[Next ->keep distance]]But, after a few minutes of silence, the scientist runs out of the building, presumably to where B is . You follow close behind his heels, eager to check up on B as well.
As you reach the lower floor, you hear soft whimpering. You and the scientist follow the sound to B's body... to find her injured but conscious. She's still alive!
"My dear, my anger has clouded my conscience for so long that I lost sight of the purpose of our project, and almost lost you too. I'm so sorry."
He picks up the injured raccoon, hugging her, yet not tight enough to cause her more pain. "You were right all along... our project was built on the foundation of hope and kindness. Although humans are to blame for their extinction, this is not the way. I'm so sorry I turned innocent humans, and especially you. My actions are unforgivable".
B looks up at the scientist, and a soft smile appears on the raccoon's face. She (you presume B is a female at this point) squeaks softly. The sight before you is bizarre, but you know better than to interrupt.
"I'll turn everyone back, then we can figure out a humane way to bring this species back together".
[[Next ->true ending]]And true to his words, Scientist Kelley turns every victims back to their original human form. It appears that the solution was to press the right button of both the Transformator, and another device that looks exactly the same as the Transformator but taken out of a metal safe by a scientist, only in white. B was the first one who turned.
As her blue fur dulls to a familiar brown head, you gasp in shock at the brunette standing infront of you. It was your childhood friend Bea! (You are surprised that the raccoon's blue fur also transforms into her clothes.) She runs up to you and envelops you in a big hug. Scientist Kelley shoots a glare your way, but he was the one who caused you and her all this trouble in the first place!
"I'm so glad I trusted you to save us. I'm sorry I got you into this mess, I promise I'll explain everything!".
[[Next -> true ending 2]]It turns out that this project was started by Bea and her lover, scientist Kelley, to revive the extinct species of the blue raccoon. After years of endless hard work, they managed to successfully breed the blue raccoon back into existence, and reintroduce the species to a secluded forest judged to be their best habitat.
However, the entire place was burnt down due to a wildfire, judged by environmentalists and the government to be extremely similar to the 2019-20 Australian bushfires. None of the blue raccoons survived, and the species fell into extinction once again.
This was the breaking point for the scientist. Having no one to blame, he believed that it was the intentional work of businessmen, entrepreneurs and poachers who wanted to use the same land for development.
Kelley decided to build the device, the "Transformator", as a revenge plan, to turn curious humans who interact with the Transformator into blue raccoons. It seemed that he wanted them to "experience the life of a blue raccoon, so humans can reflect on their actions."
He used the notes in his device to lure them to his lab, promising to turn them back into humans. Then, he could secretly kidnap them and run experiments on them. Or, he could wait for the raccoon's natural instincts to take over their human instincts, and reintroduce them to the wild to build up their population.
He assured Bea that the Transformator device was only a prototype for emergency use, but Bea could tell that her lover's heart was getting corrupted.
Not knowing how to persuade him otherwise, she decided to put the messages in the Transformator, locking it with their anniversary date in hopes that he wouldn't lose sight of his original intentions. But he never did look at it.
[[Next -> true ending 3]]The previous day, Bea got into an intense argument with scientist Kelley, trying once again to stop him from pursueing this evil route. Threatening to leave him, Kelley was convinced that Bea has lost faith in him. Believing that he had lost his soulmate, he was consumed by rage and pain, and he turned her lover into a blue raccoon, locking her in one of the lab rooms.
Knowing the place like the back of her hand, Bea managed to escape the lab with the device. The only person other person closest to her besides her lover was you, her long time friend.
With difficulty, she texted you with her furry paws on her laptop, knowing you would try the alley way if she mentioned it was a shortcut. However, she had to avoid passerbys who tried to catch her as she was setting things up. By the time she returned, you were already about to leave the device.
As for the tragic scientist, he was filled with heavy guilt when he finally reflected and look back on his actions.
Kelley couldn't fathom how his conscience had been clouded for so long. He knew he could not live with his actions, and after thinking in silence, he came to the decision to turn himself in to the police. And so that was what he did the very next day, after destroying the Transformator.
[[Next -> true ending 4]]You had decided to accompany them to the police station.
Before Kelley was taken away, Bea promises him that she still loves him, and will continue their research for the both of them. She hopes that he will be out in time to see the blue raccoons flourish once again. They then shared a deep kiss and a long hug.
The sun was setting once more, just like how it was when you first arrived at the lab the previous day. As your adventure comes to an end, and as you and Bea walk out of the police station, a heavy, undescribable atmosphere fills the air.
After a couple of seconds, Bea was the first one to break it. "Wow. Being a raccoon really takes up a whole lot of energy. I'm starving. Should we head out for dinner?"
Your stomach gave out a loud grumble in response, and you smile. It really was just like Bea to be unable to stand heavy moods, and be the first one to break such a mood. Because of that, you find yourself feeling slightly better too.
"Now that you say it, you better make up for yesterday. Well, today, I'm in the mood for.."

''"We don't own the planet Earth, we belong to it. And we must share it with our wildlife" - Steve Irwin''Mustering your strength, you pick yourself up and quickly limp as fast as you can out of the door with the device in your hands. You can hear the scientist going after you, but you are too scared to look back.
As you head outside the hospital and go round to find B, you see that all along, there was a big metal space behind the hospital, which almost looks new as compared to the dilapitated state of the hospital. You then hear soft whimpering. You follow the sound to B's body, twitching on the floor. She's still alive! You carefully pick her up in your arms. Surprisingly, the scientist has still not caught up with you.
Looking around, you try to limp your way back, beyond the hospital. Maybe if you could find a vet somewhere, they could treat B. You feel a glimmer of hope. Holding B firmly in your arms, you try to escape from the large compounds of the hospital.
Yet, as you reach the entrance of the hospital grounds, you see the scientist blocking your exit. He firmly grabs the device in your hand and snatches it.
This is the worst case scenario. You and B are injured, and the scientist has his hands on the device. What do you want to try to do?

You hear the scientist mumble: "It's my precious 17th anniversary with her, too..."
You remember the date is 14/11/2022. If it was the scientist's 17th anniversary, then... the scientist's anniversary is on 14/11/2005?
You have a fleeting thought that the date could have been a password to something, but it is too late to figure anything out now, as your vision fades to black.
[[Next-> bad end 2]]When you wake up, you feel weirdly tingly. You observe yourself, and realise you are filled from head to toe with blue fur! Your body is short and your hands and legs have become paws! You realise... you have turned into a blue raccoon too.
You look around - you are in one of the cages that you have seen in the big room before. Left, right, up, down: you are surrounded by neighbours of blue raccoons, who are all squeaking sadly.
Only squeaks leave your mouth as you try to protest, but you are one of the many squeaking in the big room. You realise there's not much you can do now except live in the cage.

I'm sorry I had to hurt you, but I had no choice. A few broken limbs will heal with time. My project is almost complete, and you will be the first to witness it all."
It seems that B has fallen to a place at the back of the metal building. You cannot see B.
You also realise that B is the scientist's lover, who has been transformed into a blue raccoon for some reason. Although you feel suspicious of the situation, you choose to believe the that scientist will not hurt B any further.
You look at the date: 14/11/2022. If it was the scientist's 5th anniversary, then... 14/11/2005?
You have a fleeting thought that the date could have been a password to something, but it is too late to figure anything out now. You have to escape before the scientist changes his mind, and you have lost the chance to see B ever again.
[[Next ->neutral ending 3]]You trace your steps back and end up at your hotel, feeling defeated. You take your phone out and text your childhood friend: "Sorry, I got caught up in a mess and I'm too tired to have dinner with you. Let's have dinner another day."

You can’t help but worry about your friend after she didn't reply, and after waiting for two days of no news you decided to report her as a missing person to the police. However, as there has been too many missing cases happening lately, the police cannot give you immediate help to find your friend.

You jump in surprise and look at B in delight. It turns out the device had a solution after all! However, you feel strange about the first line. "Looking for a way to turn back to human?"
Does that mean B used to be a human, that's why it is so human-like?
Do you want to try solving this riddle?
[[Yes ->"Notes"]]
[[No, look at the Messages first ->"Messages"]]She brings you to the cafe you had agreed to meet up for dinner. After you both had a meal in silence, she tells you about everything -
Her lover, Hover Kelley, was the one who made the device. He had an obsession with blue raccoons since he was young as he felt it was his spirit animal, and it was because of her own love of blue raccoons that brought the two closer together.
"I thought I could persuade him to stop. But in the end, I couldn't, and even I was turned into a blue raccoon..." she mumbles.
She tells you that there are still many others trapped in the lab she works at. She also tells you that with this incident, she has finally decided to report her lover to the police. After she says that, she looks heartbroken. You know that she must have had a lot to think about to come to that conclusion.
You have a heavy heart for the other people who turned into blue raccoons. Maybe that was why there were so many missing people posters - some turned into blue raccoons.
But at least for now, your childhood friend is no longer a raccoon, and is safe and sound. What an adventure you had experienced on your first week in this new town. Now hopefully, your new job won't be a crazy one like this...

You arrive at a vast empty space with a counter and two paths. You breathe in stale air. Papers float around, and you see wild plants starting to grow in the nooks and cranny of the walls. Surprisingly, there is not a lot of graffiti.
The air is silent aside from a low mumble of an air-conditioner in the distance. Yet, every little movement and breath from you and the other raccoon can be heard clearly. It really looks like the beginnings of a haunted hospital.
A sign board at the lobby shows:
Left: Waiting Room
Right: Restricted Area: Authorised personnel only.
You have to open what seems to look like a metal door if you decide to go to the right.
Where do you want to go?
[[Go left ->Go left raccoon]]
[[Go Right ->Go right raccoon]] The waiting room is dusty and dirty.
A dull mumble from the air-conditioner rings in the air. There are scattered papers by the table, and you see some ants crawling on the floor.
Do you want to look around?
[[Yes ->Look around waiting room raccoon]]
[[No, head back to the hospital entrance -> hospital raccoon]]You squeak at the blue raccoon to help you open the door leading to the right. With some struggle, you open it and enter the restricted area. To your surprise, it is a hospital morgue.
As you and the other blue raccoon looks at the morgue, the door locks behind you. You realise that it is a one way door. You and the other blue raccoon are trapped. Rows of dead bodies covered with white cloths filled the room, and you proceed forward together with the other raccoon, your hair standing on end. The other raccoon looks surprisingly calm.
Behind the rows of dead bodies are small metal doors, and you suppose there are more dead bodies behind them.
You don't want to take a closer look, but it seems that the bodies are well preserved. You start to wonder what secrets this hospital may be holding.
At the end of the room, unlike the metal state of the rest of the room, there are six ordinary looking doors. Two of them look tightly shut.
You can choose to open one of the doors:
[[Door 1 ->Door 1 raccoon]]
[[Door 2 ->Door 2 raccoon]]
[[Door 3 ->Door 3 raccoon]]
[[Door 4 ->Door 4 raccoon]](if:(history: where its name contains "Look around waiting room raccoon")'s length <= 1)[As you explore, you sneeze. The waiting room simply seems to be filled with dust at every nook and corner. Just then, you spot something odd.
On the counter desk lies a pile of crumpled paper. Upon closer inspection, you realise that there are footsteps aside from yours formed by the dust leading to the table. When you approach it, you realise the table is not covered in dust, suggesting that someone has been to the table quite recently.
You roughly looked ](if:(history: where its name contains "Look around waiting room raccoon")'s length > 1)[You have roughly looked ]through the crumpled papers and you find a [[torn newspaper clipping]] and [[pages of a diary]] by someone who calls himself Professor Hover Kelley. B is silent throughout.
You realise that besides this, there is nothing more to the waiting area.
[[Open the door to the restricted area ->Go right raccoon]]It seems that (if:(history: where its name contains "Door 1")'s length >= 1)[you have a brave heart, huh. Like before,]the door knob is cold. Fearfully, you combine efforts with the other raccoon open the door...
You are greeted by pitch black darkness. Your eyes try to adjust to the darkness. After a few seconds, you start to see something...
You see rows of skeletons.
(if:(history: where its name contains "Door 1")'s length < 1)[Just then, something drops and you see a small animal skull rolling towards you. Frightened, you quickly exit the room. The door shuts by itself.]
(if:(history: where its name contains "Door 1")'s length >= 1)[The small animal skull which dropped just now is now lying on its side. You are no longer scared by it, and feel a sense of pity towards it. Your gaze lingers on it for a bit, and you let the door close by itself]
What do you want to do?
[[Go to Door 2 ->Door 2 raccoon]]
[[Go to Door 3 ->Door 3 raccoon]]
[[Go to Door 4 ->Door 4 raccoon]](if:(history: where its name contains "Door 2")'s length >= 1)[You want to look at the scene again? Why?? Well, your decision is respected.] You squeak at the other raccoon to help again, and it helps you to open the door. When you go in, you are greeted by a strong and foul smell. Rows of jars filled with different human organs, from hearts to legs and arms, lie out in front of you.
You and the other raccoon look at the scene. You feel a little horrified, but you don't know about the other raccoon.
A huge cabinet on the right displays a wide array of tools, neatly and carefully arranged. Posters of the human and animal anatomy cover the peeling wallpaper. (if:(history: where its name contains "Door 1")'s length >= 1)[Again, ]The other raccoon shakes its head and (if:(history: where its name contains "Door 1")'s length >= 1)[gives you a look that seems like disapproval. It ]walks out of the room. You decide to follow it.
The door closes behind you.
What do you want to do next?
[[Go to Door 1 ->Door 1 raccoon]]
[[Go to Door 3 ->Door 3 raccoon]]
[[Go to Door 4 ->Door 4 raccoon]]It is pitch dark. The room seems to be empty. The other raccoon seems to run in front of you. As your eyes adjust to the darkness again, you hear the other raccoon squeak. Squinting, you realise that there is a door, which is at most 90cm in height and 20cm in width, at the end of the room. It is perfect for you and the other raccoon's height. You scamper over to the other blue raccoon and peek into the door and you realise that it is a tunnel. You cannot see the other end of the tunnel.
There is a bad vibe surrounding it, but it seems the destination is just ahead, considering that the door is the perfect size for raccoons to go in.
The other raccoon is squirming impatiently yet nervously, as if waiting for your approval to head into the small door. What do you want to do?
Well, this looks like a perfect opportunity. There seems to be only one thing to do.
[[Nod your head and go in with the other raccoon ->Bad end - both are caught by the scientist]](if:(history: where its name contains "Door 4")'s length >= 1)[You like revisiting this room? Alright, that's true, there are many things in this room you might like to re-examine.] You squeak at the other raccoon and together you open the door.
In this room, you see small piles of clothes and accessories, from watches to necklaces. There are a number of such piles all over the place. When you look closer, the clothes range from undergarments to suits and dresses, most of which look stale. Some seem to have been torn from fierce struggles.
At the corner of the room, you see a stack of bags and other miscellaneous items like sweets, napkins and coins. (if:(history: where its name contains "Door 4")'s length >= 1)[When you scamper closer, you see a few formal family photos which do not appear to have been there for a long time. Why did a number of people lose their family photos in this weird place?](if:(history: where its name contains "Door 4")'s length >= 2)[When you look closer again, aside from family photos, there seems to be a small box. When you open it with difficulty with your paws, it turns out to be a ring with a diamond on it. An engagement ring? What is it doing in this random pile? The other raccoon squeaks at you softly, and you put it down.](if:(history: where its name contains "Door 4")'s length >= 3)[There is nothing else that seems to stand out to you.]
Then, your attention turns to a solid wood desk in the middle of the room, which has a stack of forms resembling health reports.
You approach the forms with the other raccoon. You hop on the table and shuffle through a few forms, and realise the ones you see consists of each individual's image, name, age, height, weight and blood type. Each form also has some kind of image of a scan, which is accompanied by a scrawling list of data that is incomprehensible in your eyes. (if:(history: where its name contains "Door 4")'s length >= 1)[When you look closer, you notice that their age range and gender is highly varied, as if these individuals were selected at random.](if:(history: where its name contains "Door 4")'s length >= 2)[When you try looking closer at the scans, it seems to be multiple image sof X-rays of humans layered on top of one another, just in different distortions, as if some of images are warped weirdly.](if:(history: where its name contains "Door 4")'s length >= 3)[There is nothing new you think you can find from these forms.]
The other raccoon (if:(history: where its name contains "Door 4")'s length >= 1)[once again ]squeaks a bit sadly at you. You wonder why.
Both of you open the door with difficulty again, and head out. The door closes behind the two of you. What do you want to do next?
[[Go to Door 1 ->Door 1 raccoon]]
[[Go to Door 2 ->Door 2 raccoon]]
[[Go to Door 3 ->Door 3 raccoon]]The other raccoon runs in first, and you scamper closely behind it. After about 5 seconds, you see light at the end. The other raccoon goes through the flaps at the end first, and you follow excitedly.
You are excited to turn back into a human...
(after:3s)[And you fall into the arms of someone, squished against the other blue raccoon. The other blue raccoon is struggling after realising it is caught, but the grip of this someone is so tight against the both of you, that it is unable to make much movement.
Yeah, this feels bad. You also try to struggle and claw out to escape, but the strength of a raccoon cannot compare to this human's strength.
You look up fearfully, and realise a bald man in a lab coat is smiling widely back at you. He mutters excitedly: "She is back, and she even brought another fine specimen to me... hehe... this is amazing. What an amazing occurance."
He looks lovingly at the other blue raccoon, who freezes up when it meets his eyes. He smile only widens. "Is this our 17th anniversary present? You shouldn't have... I will be more saddened without your presence. Your presence is all I need. Just like the old days, you will be my first witness to the start of a new beginning..."
You remember the date is 14/11/2022. If it was the scientist's 17th anniversary, then... this anniversary must be on 14/11/2005?
You have a fleeting thought that the date could have been a password to something, but it seems to be too late to figure anything out now.
You look at the other raccoon, and it also turns to you, shivering, and its eyes look very sorry. It lets out a whimper. What did it mean?
You know you are in an unescapable fate. You tear your eyes away from the other raccoon and look at the scientist, but he doesn't look at you, as he throws you into a metal cage. You thrash against the cage squeaking with all your might, but soon, you feel yourself getting sleepier. You try your best to struggle against the sleepiness, but you start feeling faint and you begin to lose your concsiousness. The last thing you remember is darkness, not knowing what happens to you after that...
Luckily for you, that's the person in the story you're controlling, not you yourself. Do you want to try again?
[[Yes, go back to when I first became a raccoon->Transform into a blue raccoon]]
[[Yes, go back to when I first discover the device->Device is found]]
[[No, start from the beginning->Introduction]]
[[No, quit the game->Welcome]]]Yup, it's locked. Then there's nothing you can do about this door.
[[Go back to examine all the doors ->Don't Release]]A loud pop echoes off the walls.
Searing hot pain shoots up your leg as shock wave spread through your entire body. You lose your footing and tumble to the ground in shock.
B also tumbles out of your hand and across the metallic floor. The device flies out of her tiny hands.
Your body twitches uncontrollably, and you are filled a searing, numbing pain, from what seems to be a mix of electricity and adrenaline running through your veins. You look towards the source of the pain and find two probes sticking out of your leg, connected to a thin and long wire. You follow the direction of the wire... it is linked with a taser the scientist is holding.
With whatever control you have, you lift up your head and try to process what is happening. You see B lying on the far end of the foyer, unmoving. Across you, something shiny on the floor catches your eye: it's the device! You start to feel control come back to your body - it seems that the shock is not a large one. It is only an arm's length away from you. However, the scientist is also starting to walk towards the device.
Should you grab the device before the scientist grabs it?
